Club Information Day on Sunday 5th June

On Sunday June 5th the club will be holding an information and Orientation day to provide information to prospective members about the club and the proesses and procedure for learning to fly gliders at Mangrove Mountain.


Open to all prospective members and those interested in finding out about flying with the club.


IF YOU ARE PROPOSING TO COME, PLEASE DO AN RSVP ON OUR WEBSITE (Flying Events Registration) SO WE CAN KNOW HOW MANY ARE COMING (FOR LUNCH CATERING PURPOSES)

  1. In particular those who provided their contact information to the club at the recent Warnervale airshow and responded to email contact from us are personally invited, as well as those those who have recently contacted the CFI or club secretary.

  2. There will be a free sasuage sizzle barbecue provided for all participants. (Anything special you need, bring yourself).

  3. Start time is 10 am at Central Coast Soaring Club, 156 Bloodtree Road, Mangrove Mountanin NSW 2250.

  4. Proposed Items - Approximate timetable: a) 10 am. Showing gliders and faciities available, b) 11. am and onwards . i) Introductory presentation about the role of the club and training that can be provided by the club ii) What you need to do to learn to fly a glider iii) How our club operates iv) Gliding Federation of Australia requirements and the role of GFA v) Personal requirements eg medical vi) Brief outline of the GFA traiining syllabus and goals vii) Procedures and costs for joining to be a member of the club, paperwork and invitation to join c) About 12.00 or 12.30 (depending on how long the introductory presentation and any questions and answers takes 1) Sausage Sizzle barbecue lunch (free) ii) Winner of the draw for a free Self Launch Gkider Training flight (open to respondents to contacts from the Warnervale AirShow or recent personal contact witht the CFI.). d) From about 1.30 pm i) Hands on computer simulator flights for participants showing winch launch simulator flights at Mangrove Mountain. ii) If possible, demonstratIion winch launch flights, if the strip conditons and weather conditions are suitable. (Not determined yet).

Back to Flying

After a very long bout of no flying due to rain and the unusable wet strip, we expect to be flying again this Sunday 30th October as the strip should have dried out sufficiently for use with caution.
